Clixtell analyzes large quantities of data in real-time: the source of the click, the identity and behavior of the online visitor, and the type of device the clicks are coming from. Then, Clixtell generates a “Device Fingerprint”: a unique ID number of 26 characters for each device each click came from. Meaning, that even if the service provider or IP address was to be replaced, Clixtell can always identify the device the clicks came from by its unique ID and connect all fraudulent clicks made by it.
The Device ID Blocker allows you a competitive advantage – allows you to block competitors and click fraud attempts even after IP addresses and service providers are changed and replaced.
Protecting the campaigns thoroughly cannot happen only through identifying IPs, it’s crucial to identify the device and base your campaign security levels on all those factors combined.
In order to grant Clixtell permission to perform blocks using the Device ID Blocker, go to the menu on the left on the dashboard page,
Click Security Center -> Settings,
Click on Block Devices and define the length of the block you prefer for this kind of violation.
Important: The Device ID Blocker will only work if the Clixtell script is implemented in all of the website’s landing pages or a WordPress plug-in is activated.
To reach the Device ID Blocker go to the Traffic page.
Pressing the IP of each click will open a window that allows you to hover with the mouse on the Device Identifier to see the full ID number for each device.
